Just In: Eddie Murphy Withdraws As Oscar Host

Eddie Murphy has withdrawn as the host of the 84th Annual Academy Awards, more famously known as the Oscars. Eddie Murphy and the Academy were in the process of mending their relationship. Eddie Murphy felt snubbed after losing the Best Supporting Actor category for his role as Jimmy in Dreamgirls. *Jimmy Got Soul! Jimmy Got, Jimmy Got, Jimmy Got Soul!*

So…Why did Eddie Murphy withdraw from the Academy Awards? Well it’s really simple, the Academy fires producer Brett Ratner, and Eddie Murphy isn’t having it. Brett Ratner is resigning as producer after using offensive language targeting homosexuals at a premiere of Tower Heist. Brett Ratner is the director of Tower Heist, which stars also Eddie Murphy. So Brett Ratner is responsible for recruiting Eddie Murphy as host of the Oscars. So simply put, Eddie Murphy withdraws from the Oscars because he is standing by his man, Brett Ratner.

Tamar Braxton Has Stretch Marks & Does NOT Bleach Her Skin

In a recent interview with Black Enterprise, Tamar Braxton takes the time to clear up a few internet rumors. Tamar Braxton also talks about being the break out star on Braxton Family Values and how her sisters accuse Tamar of showing out for the cameras; plus I have pictures of Tamar and the Braxtons at the NYC Premiere of Braxton Family Values.

BlackEnterprise.com: Do you think that the attention you’ve received has caused some sibling rivalry?

Braxton: At first I did, and it was very difficult for me because I would get accused of acting like a prima donna. But I’m like, if y’all think about it, I’ve been making the same faces since I was about 2 [years old]. I think the problem is when you see it on TV it’s magnified. I believe it was difficult for my sisters to watch it and they became defensive. But again, I’ve always been candid and honest. I believe everybody is back to normal and it was more of the surprise the first season.

Mariah Carey Drops Her Baby Weight With Jenny Craig

Singer and mommy of 2 Mariah Carey is on the cover of US Weekly, looking quite fabulous! Seems she took the route of Jennifer Hudson and got on the Jenny Craig plan to lose weight after giving birth to her twins Moroccan and Monroe. Mariah tweeted this picture of her, looking slim and trim:

OK! I see you, Mariah! Apparently, Mariah had a number of companies vying for her business, following the birth of her children in April.

Several weight-loss companies called her about working with them, Carey says, but when she spoke to the executives at Jenny, “all of whom had their own issues with weight,” she felt “a kinship with everybody I spoke with.”

LaLa Anthony Pretty In Pink At Glamour Women Of The Year; Plus Wendy Williams, Jennifer Lopez, Kerry Washington

The 2011 Glamour Women of the Year Awards honoring Jennifer Lopez, is simply a night of beauty and charity. LaLa Anthony looks amazing in all pink, while Jennifer Lopez is stunning in her Atelier Versace dress with a thigh high split. Kerry Washington and Wendy Williams are also beautiful on the red carpet.

Jennifer Lopez nearly in tears as she accepts the award, dedicates her speech to the women in her life, who are obviously helping her through difficult times with the divorce and transitioning to a single mother of twins.

It’s the women. Through the ups and the not so ups, that’s the one thing that got me through. My grandmother, who taught me to cook and not be afraid to serve and be humble. And to go out looking nice because people like that and then they respect you…My daughter Emme (3) inspires me to be a better human being.
