Let’s Discuss: Kem Will ‘Sparkle’ + Are Movie Remakes Ingenious Or Irritating?

Hollywood has taken to movie remakes at a huge rate, these past few years. One of the latest remakes on deck has been adding big name singers to it’s cast. The latest add? R&B crooner Kem. He’s been added to the cast of the movie remake of Sparkle, joining Jordin Sparks, Whitney Houston, Derek Luke and Mike Epps. This will be Kem’s film debut in the role of club owner and Master of Ceremonies, Buddy. Released in 1976, Sparkle tells the story of three sisters who try to navigate their way to the top, in the midst of family turmoil.

Looking at the line up thus far, this film has lots of potential. And could possibly end up with some nominations, a la Dreamgirls. Stevie Wonder Still Has ‘Dem’ Braids; Chaka Khan Still Got Body

Artist for Peace “Never Again” Concert took place Monday Night in Universal City, CA to honor Stevie Wonder and peace efforts against genocide. It was the Lost & Found event of the year. Bobby Brown made an appearance, along with Eric Benet, Pras, Wayne Brady, and Tommy Davidson. Seriously where have all of these people been? Chaka Khan serenaded her good friend Stevie Wonder. Many of you may not know this, I really didn’t either (I’m not that old), but before their was a Beyonce, Chaka Khan held the title of the voice with the body. As you can see below in her leopard boots and bodysuit, Ms Chaka Khan is holding on to that title.

Actually in her younger years, Chaka Khan and Nicki Minaj resemblance is quite striking. It’s almost eerie. I would like to see Nicki Minja remake this photo in Ebony Icons.

Anyway, back to the topic. Stevie Wonder is holding on to his braids, but I don’t know how much longer the braids can hold on, his iconic look is fading fast. Eric Benet, steps out on the red carpet with his wife pregnant Manuela, who is also the ex-wife of Prince. Plus pics of Bobby Brown, Tommy Davidson, and Wayne Brady when you continue…

Rick Ross Says Seizures Caused By Lack Of Sleep

Rick Ross recently hit up 106 & Park and spoke to Rocsi and Terrence J about his recent health issues. If you recall, last month Rozay suffered a number of seizures while on an airplane, causing a couple of emergency landings.

Rick basically says in the midst of hustling and working hard, he sacrificed sleep, thus causing the seizures. He even says he hasn’t slept for 8 hours in over 5 years. Now I’m no doctor but in my experience, when your body needs sleep, it will GET sleep. It’ll just shut down. I believe his sleep deficiency might have had a hand in his health issues, but I’m sure there’s more to the story than that.
