Stacey Dash finally reveals publicly what we’ve known for months, that she is not returning to Vh1 Sinlge Ladies for a second season. According to Dash, she’s not leaving because she keeps fighting with fellow cast mates, and its’ not because she acts like a diva, but because of the shooting location.
I truly enjoyed playing Val on Single Ladies, but I have decided to leave the show. I have to be back in LA with my children right now and the ‘Single Ladies’ shooting location makes that impossible. The 21st Annual Theater Awards were held in Los Angeles at Director’s Guild America. There are always two sides to a story! First, Solange Knowles calls the Miami Police Department racist during a twitter rant. According to Solange Knowles, the Miami Po-Po harassed her for no reason at all, except for being black. Check out her tweets below:
I have literally had my last leg with discriminating police! Miami police department will be notified. A police officer just pulled a weapon on me…. I have done NOTHING illegal, against the law, or anything of the sort. I am simply tired of police using arrogance, ego and authority as an offense.
I’m only tweeting this to raise awareness. I could have left quietly, but I am sick & tired of this scenario being played over & over again. I’m ok. I’m safe & sound at my apartment. Katt Williams is in the news again, and this time it’s actually because of his comedy. During a show in Phoenix, AZ, Katt Williams was heckled on stage by a Hispanic man sitting in the audience on the front row. Now according to Huffington Post, Katt Williams went on a “racist (xenophobic) rant”, but after watching the video, I think Huffington Post may have exaggerated a lot. The heckler was out of line, and Katt Williams put him back in his place!?!

Obviously the highlight of the 2011 Video Music Awards is finding out that Beyonce is pregnant, that pretty much trumps all things VMAs, but Adele with her voice, Beyonce and her belly, plus Chris Brown flying like Peter Pan were definitely the best performances of the night.
Of course Nicki Minaj tried to create a buzz with her outfit, but in all honesty most of us were underwhelmed. It was just clutter! She looked like a hoarder and that’s not good. Lady GaGa acted like a “man” the whole night, and that was somewhat entertaining. All in all the VMAs were worth watching. I was disappointed with the Amy Winehouse tribute, not because of Bruno Mars, I love him, but because it didn’t feel like a tribute and it wasn’t soulful. Not sure why Adele didn’t sing for Amy. Tributes are something BET seems to do better. Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa were still licking each other, and ironically Tyler the Creator’s mom caught the holy ghost when he won best new artist.
