Congratulations are in order to Toya Carter and MempHitz who tied the not in a private ceremony that will be revealed on BET during the next season of A Family Affair. I’m so happy that Toya Carter has made a name for herself, in a positive manner, and has now closed a chapter in her life as Lil Wayne’s ex (baby-mama*in my New Orleans accent*). She is now officially the wife of Mickey MempHitz Wright.
In attendance: Monica and her husband, Shannon Brown, Singer Nivea (Lil Wayne and The Dream’s ex), Actress Lauren London, (Lil Wayne’s ex), Rapper Rasheeda, and Singer Kandi Burruss (Xscape andRHOA), and Tamar Braxton (?).

Eddie Murphy and his ex-wife, and their five children, reunited for a great cause! Their oldest son, Myles Mitchell Murphy, has graduated from high school. Nicole Murphy was so proud of her baby boy that she tweeted several pictures of the whole family reunited.
When I first learned that Samuel L. Jackson was narrating a children’s book, all I could think about was Dave Chappelle’s impersonation of him from“The Chappelle Show” with Sam Jackson’s beer, and I thought I’d pass, but that was until I actually gave it a chance and it’s extremely hilarious!
This sounds like something my parents would actually say to me when I was a child.

Despite the harsh criticism from critics about the latest movie from Warner Bros., The Green Lantern, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Even though I thought a movie catered to comic book lovers was a little too mushy with all the lovey dovey between Hal Jordan played by Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, it was still pretty okay.
I don’t know how I missed this from the preview trailers, but Angela Bassett and Michael Clarke Duncan were also a part of the cast. Angela played the part of Dr. Amanda Waller, former congressional aide and Michael Clark Duncan did voice over work for the character, Kilowog.
Angela Basset never ceases to amaze me and I am so glad that she is one of those actresses that can bounce back and forth between urban entertainment movies to mainstream movies.
Beyonce is still having the best year ever! King B, or whatever it is she calls herself nowadays, was amongst 178 artists and executives invited from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to join the ranks of Oscar voters.
The Academy selected their invitees based on those whom have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. Those who accept the invitation will be the only additions in 2011 to the Academy’s roster of members.
“These individuals are among the best filmmakers working in the industry today,” said Academy President Tom Sherak. “Their talent and creativity have entertained moviegoers around the world, and I welcome each of them to our ranks.”

Back in March, I did an interview with R&B newcomer, K Michelle. During the interview K Michelle revealed that her goal in life is to be known as the King of R&B, and not the Queen of anything because it limits women’s options. Ironically, people are now referring to Beyonce as King B, and I just find that interesting. The first time I’ve ever heard a female wanting to be referenced as Kingwas a few months ago, and now that term is being used to describe Beyonce.
Q: You are more than just a singer?
K Michelle: Yes, and you are going to laugh but, I want to be the King of R&B, not the Queen. I want to be King because they put us women in boxes where we can’t do or say certain things; the creativity I have from writing, playing, and producing. I don’t want to be compared, I just want to do me.
I’m not saying Beyonce stole the idea from K Michelle, but since this new album has started its promo tour, it’s seems Beyonce has borrowed a lot from other people on the internet. All I know is… Read More Here…
Three of the most beautiful women of color in Hollywood, Tika Sumpter, Taraji P Henson, and Sanaa Lathan attended the grand opening of Dream Downtown PH-D Rooftop Lounge and Marble Lane Restaurant in New York. Taraji P Henson rocked some mumu style short shorts that showed off her things and hips; proving that age ain’t nothing but a number. Werk!
These women are just too beautiful, more pic below… Read More Here…
