Musician Wyclef Jean was shot while visiting Haiti on the eve of the Presidential election. Wyclef Jean was reportedly shot in the right hand around midnight, and released shortly after seeking medical attention around 2:45 am. The wound was described as “superficial”.

It seems Wyclef was in town to support the campaign of fellow musician  Michel Martelly, who is running for President against First Lady Mirlande Manigat.  Also traveling with Wyclef Jean, was rapper Busta Rhymes who was in the vehicle when rebels opened fire. No other members of the entourage were hit.
