Essence December Cover Celebrates For Colored Women Cast

What am I so excited about this movie, because I was excited about the play. When I was in seventh grade I discovered women of color who were writers, and it changed so much for me. Do I think the movie will live up to the play, probably not, but do I want to support more works like this, yes with a capital H.

Reading Toni Morrison’s Bluest Eye changed my concept of color and of race, and what it means to be a writer. Reading Ntozake Shange’s For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf just opened up new worlds in the literary arts. Besides, have you seen the cast; full of beautiful black women that are worth admiring…and men, too.

Real Housewives Of Atlanta: You Want To Put The Sugar Where?

Posted by on Nov 2, 2010 in Celebrity Drama, TV Shows, Videos | 7 comments

Oh my! Did any of you watch Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) last night. Well during the episode, the women had a conversation about some bedroom tricks. The topics are let’s just say made for after hours.

During last night show of RHOA, I found some interesting tricks during the ladies’ discussion, but you will have to watch the video to see exactly what I’m talking about. This conversation just blew my mind, and Kandi’s mom was right there in the mix.

I have two questions, would you buy your mom one, and where exactly do you put the sugar?

Bishop Eddie Long 300x222 Bishop Eddie Long Often Shares Room With Members Of CongregationBishop Eddie Long finally has a response to charges of sexual misconduct filed by four male ex-members of his church. Bishop Long (who now reminds me of Bishop Don Juan) responds to each charge levied at him by the young men.

I don’t even know where to start, but let’s start with the fact that he allows his parishioners to call him Daddy.  He often sleeps in the same hotel rooms with his congregation while traveling, even if they are underage, even if they are women? Bishop Eddie Long also admits to showering the boys with gifts, but not in exchange for sexual favors. He also provided many young men with transportation so that they can get to school and work.Long denies providing them with drugs or sleeping agents as claimed by one of the victims.

Long provided cars for the youths so they would have transportation to school and work, according to the responses, and provided them housing when they needed it — in the case of LeGrande, for instance, because his school had no dormitory and he was living in a hotel room,
