So I am going through my morning routine, gathering my posts for the day, and I came across NeNe Leakes at the 10th Anniversary of Tao NYC. The 5th Annual Black Girls Rock Awards was held this year at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, NYC. The non profit organization that encourages black girls to pursue the arts just got a huge gift; BET will televise the awards ceremony on November 7th which will help increase the visibility of the organization, or in other words help them raise more money. First off I love this couple and it’s hard for me to say anything negative about them. A fellow Dallas blogger (Journalicious) wrote a blog post about Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker at a Dallas night club taking pictures for extra money. Then on Friday news broke confirming Boris Kodjoe was facing financial problems with the IRS; it’s reported that he owes $230,000 in tax liens.
Actor Boris Kodjoe and wife Nicole Ari Parker made an appearance at Mr. Big’s (formally Kindal’s) in Dallas over the weekend. The two are definitely one of the most stunning couples in Hollywood, however I couldn’t help but think, ” What is an A-list actor with a new sexy sitcom on NBC (Undercovers) doing making nightclub appearances? Congratulations are in order to Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz who welcome a boy into their family. The fourth edition to the Beatz clan is named Egypt Daoud Dean. Swizz Beatz happily confirmed the news via Twitter, “I’m so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life wowwwwww!” It’s official Alicia Keys gives birth to her first child, and is bound to Swizz Beatz for life, so it’s time to move on and send the baby nothing but love. I don’t know how to feel about this, but Clifford “TI” Harris is going back to jail, again and again and again. There is no way I can justify him not going to jail, but I do have a soft spot for a man that talked a suicide victim off a ledge just days before his court hearing. T.I. couldn’t couldn’t justify why he shouldn’t go to jail, either. He told the just and I quote:
I screwed up. I screwed up big-time, and I’m sorry. I’m truly and sincerely sorry. I don’t want and I don’t need to use drugs anymore. I want them out of my life.
He didn’t start off with “what had happened was,” so he knew throwing himself on the mercy of the court was his only legal defense. The judge was unmoved by the apology, as clearly shown by his use of ebonics (I’m sorry Ebonics, it’s now an official dialect):
I think Mr. Harris has had about the limit of second chances. You certainly dumped a lot of smut on the whole experiment.
Does anyone believe T.I. shouldn’t go to jail at this point?
