This Won’t Make Fox News: President Obama Confirms He’s A Christian

During an informal meet and greet, President Obama took a few questions in Albuquerque, NM from a few attendees. Naturally, one woman decides to ask President Obama, Why is he a Christian? What she was really asking: Is President Obama saved and what qualifies him to be saved according to scripture. Well President Obama responded, and confirmed that he was indeed a Christian and not a Muslim, as many ignorant people choose to believe although they call themselves Christians, too.

I’m a Christian by choice,” Obama told his audience here. “My family didn’t – frankly, they weren’t folks who went to church every week. And my mother was one of the most spiritual people I knew, but she didn’t raise me in the church.”So I came to my Christian faith later in life, and it was because the precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me in terms of the kind of life that I would want to lead – being my brothers’ and sisters’ keeper, treating others as they would treat me,” he continued.

And I think also understanding that Jesus Christ dying for my sins spoke to the humility we all have to have as human beings, that we’re sinful and we’re flawed and we make mistakes, and that we achieve salvation through the grace of God,” Obama said. “But what we can do, as flawed as we are, is still see God in other people and do our best to help them find their own grace.

I still can’t believe so called born again Christian Conservatives, have the nerve to doubt someone’s faith because they don’t share the same political views. I was taught that you are saved in Christ if you believe in Romans 10:9 and not if your parents were or were not Christians, or if you held liberal or conservative political views.  Last time, I check the words Capitalism and America were not found in the bible, nor are they prerequisites for salvation. Having a Muslim father has nothing to do with Obama’s faith in Christ, nor does his “socialist” views. Christianity is a choice, and it can’t be passed down from generation to generation. The sad thing is many people think they are Christian because they were raised in the church, but haven’t themselves confessed Jesus as their savior. You have to say the words, and you have to believe the words. {Source}
