Hold the presses, before I act up in this place! Please tell me this is not true… According to Radar Online, Oprah’s people have reached out to Paula Cook to tell her side of the story. Paula Cook’s husband, Antwun Cook has been having an affair with Fantasia for the past year. Well, consider The Oprah Show mainstream media for choosing to give Paula Cook a voice, but ignoring and even higher profiled affair between Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys. I usually defend The Oprah Show, but this is some true BS. We are ready to throw Fantasia under the bus, by booking Paula Cook, yet elevate Alicia Keys on a pedestal for the same set of circumstances, by having her sing Christmas Carols with Tim McGraw. Didn’t Fantasia sing in Oprah’s the Color Purple? For real, I don’t condone Fantasia’s actions, but they are about to treat Fantasia like they did Chris Brown.
Lastly, I know Mashonda would NOT have passed up an opportunity to go on the Oprah Show and tell her side of the story. Let’s see, when Jennifer Aniston lost her husband to Angelina Jolie, Oprah couldn’t wait to have her “friend” Jennifer tell her side of the story. Why didn’t Mashonda get a call? #justsayin

A source told RadarOnline.com: “Paula has been approached by Oprah’s people to go on her chat show. She still hasn’t decided what she will do though, and she was also approached by Mo’Nique too.
“There was also the chance for her to appear on a new reality show about spurned women, and she’s considering another option to write a book about the whole Fantasia saga.
“At the moment she is weighing up all these offers and is just taking time out to look after her sons.
“She has been allowing Antwaun to spend time with the boys although she is becoming more resigned to the fact that their marriage is definitely over now.
“Despite anything that Fantasia may say about Antwaun being separated from his wife when she started dating him, Paula firmly believes that she knowingly got involved with a married man.”

Its not right bc Alicia is far more wrong than Fantasia….at least Fantasia didnt get pregnant or go off and marry the nigga! Alicia Keys didn’t try to kill herself to make Swizz finally moved out his wife house. Why would you think Oprah would be on Fantasia side. Fantasia was very unprofessional about “The Color Purple”. Fantasia was constantly not showing up for work.

I don’t see how Fantasia’s suicide attempt is a reason to contact Paula, if anything it should be a reason to mend a relationship with Fannie.

Oprah still supports Fantasia and if anything wants her to get the help she needs. While I doubt this is true but if indeed Paula was contacted Oprah may ask Fantasia about it first which is something she does with people she cares about. For example before Oprah had Monique’s family on she got the okay from Monique or else she was not going to have them on. If Paula is on the show it maybe part of a bigger topic and not just about her because really how long does it take to say my husband cheated on me? This story isn’t that big meaning it happens alot in the celebrity world but it is Fantasia’s suicide attempt that is making the headlines. As far as Mashonda she been talking for 2 years so she gave her exclusive interview already. No offense but truth be told skip Paula and Fantasia- Oprah need to be talking to Elin Woods. That is the ultimate interview. LOL!!

If true there is no hypocrisy its Oprah’s show and just because you have one victim of infidelity on doesn’t mean you have to have all of them on your show. Between the two I would choose Paula also, so far she has handled hers the best. She went and handled her business in court and hasn’t messed with Twitter rants and blogs. She speaks through her lawyer instead of slick talk then praising God like Mashonda. Mashonda has been talking for a while and has at times contradicted herself.

Fantasia’s situation would have stayed in the urban media if not for the suicide attempt. That is what sent hers into mainstream media.

At the end of the day they use you more then you use them while giving you an opening to such a manipulating and media driven world. They want these women to fight in and in return an old show will get more rating and then the prospect for a new show will also have high ratings.

Why is everyone going in on AKeys, she isn’t the only celeb whose slept with a married man. The media/bloggers make something out of everything. Unlike Fantasia, AKeys doesn’t entertain publicly what the media/bloggers say about her.

Because she’s a high profile celeb who sells records on women empowerment, so naturally you wouldn’t think she’d be caught up in this mess.
Secondly, A Keys is not the first woman to go through this. Angelina Jolie went through this for years with both the mainstream media and blogs covering it.
Lastly, I don’t know why people are acting like A Keys is a some kind of victim. Obviously she has a strong alliances and a strong PR team that keeps her out harms way from the media.
LOL, bloggers make something out everything. I don’t think we make A Keys cheat.

@MrsGrapevine, folks give Alicia way too much credit, they act like Alicia got ties to the Pope and can’t be touched. You can have the best PR team in the world and still get blasted over something you did. Like Renae said Alicia has not went back and forth in the media like others have. Her comments have stayed mostly about her music and charity. You cannot write about a response/conversation that has never taken place. Alicia has given no such conversation so people have been writing off their assumptions and others peoples statements, that only can last so long. I don’t think she has been out of harms way at all. To go from barely being in the media for misdeeds to being talked about and called all kind of names for the last 2-3 years, she didn’t get off easy.

Alicia Keys is no different than Fantasia as a matter of fact she should be held to a higher standard since she claims to be about uplifting women, she should have more class. Although Fantasia is a home wrecker she’s never really had a squeaky clean image plus she’s illiterate. I feel people are more accepting of Alicia because of her “so called” image and the fact that she’s light skinned/biracial.

@STEFANY, Alicia is not the only woman to sing and talk about uplifting women. Mary J is everyone’s girlfriend and she started the same way. Kimora is all about women being fab and she dated, got pregnant, and engaged while still being legally married. To say people believe more in Alicia because of her being biracial is sad and that actual says something about us. Just because Fantasia had a hard childhood doesn’t mean that should be held against her, the fact that she came through it, got her diploma and did something with her life makes her more believeable if anything because she is speaking from experience. Alicia and Mary speak from experience as well, neither one of them grew up in the best neighborhood and they didn’t have their fathers in the house. These situations are simply the result of the decisions they have made and because they are celebrities their lives get broadcast in the media. The media covers whoever will get them more ratings and blog hits etc…

I think the problem is not that Alicia is the first, but that she ignores that it happened in the media. She controls the image that’s out there by only talking about how perfect their love is, and taking pictures in paparazzi hot spots of she and Swizz holding hands, or preparing for a wedding. If you don’t discuss your private life, then don’t discuss it positive or negative. If she’s human, then have a human experience about your relationship, and not a fairy tale angle to perpetuate this clean image. She does not owe anyone an explanation, but people aren’t dumb. No we don’t have all the facts, but we do have enough to know there was an overlap. We also know Alicia Keys knew he was married, because we have pictures of all three of them together.
Both Mary J Blige and Fantasia have addressed the issue, and admitted to mistakes. So I am more inclined to favor someone that says yes, I was wrong, but I just couldn’t see it at the time, than someone who only answers one-sided questions. No one excuses their behaviors because of their past, they just appreciate the artist being more open about what was really going on. The more open you are the more I can connect with you and your music.
I don’t expect everyone to feel the way I do. I am married, so therefore I am more biased in this situation. I also don’t feel the need to call AK out of her name. I wasn’t a big fan in the first place, but I bought her album because of the image. I always thought her songs were bubble gum or watered down soul, and now I know why. I have no sense of who she is and no connection to her music. Her music alone in my opinion is not worth my dollar, and now her image isn’t either.
