R.I.P. Aaliyah! I remember exactly where I was when I found out Aaliyah had died (the D.J. in a New York nightclub stopped the music and announced her death). It took me several years to process that she actually passed away and at such a young age. A lot of people were hit hard when Aaliyah died, one of whom was her mentor and producer, Timbaland. A couple of days after Aaliyah passed, Timbaland told MTV:
She was like blood, and I lost blood. Me and her together had this chemistry. I kinda lost half of my creativity to her. It’s hard for me to talk to the fans right now. Beyond the music, she was a brilliant person, the [most special] person I ever met.
Today it was reported by TMZ that the cops had Timbaland on suicide watch. The story goes that someone stole his $2 Million watch and he was really upset. He got in his car and drove away from his home. Timbaland’s mother called the police and said they he was near a cliff and tired of the stress.

I fell in love with a perfect man many years ago. He was beautiful, intelligent, philanthropic, he loved all music to include hip-hop, he loved everything about me and who I was as a person. One problem. He was married.
Now, I knew him and fell in love with him before he was even married. But at that time I was unavailable because I was dating a friend of his. When I finally became single he was married. Anyone with a moral compass that works would know to leave it completely alone— but I got as close to the fine line as possible.
We emailed everyday. He sent me newspaper clippings from the New York Times about things that were going on in the world. We’d have lengthy email discussions about every topic under the sun from politics to philanthropy. I’d share my writings with him and he loved them. I told myself that all this communication with him was harmless since we weren’t doing anything physical.
Singer Chris Brown is in hot water again, or expecting some kind of flood from the Scottish mountains. How else would you explain this outfit he wore on 106 & Park? Chris Brown has enjoyed a lot of positive publicity lately, but it seems he misses the days of the bow-tie jokes, and is longing for a little twitter hazing. You know what… maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad, but standing next to Rocsi’s outfit certainly didn’t help much…

According to the Daily News, the real reason why Keri Hilson did not perform during the Power Live concert in NYC is because she and Ciara got into a huge cat fight, and Keri Hilson refused to perform:
Insiders initially told us that the two R&B/hip-hop artists, who’ve had a long-brewing feud through their songs, had a verbal cat-fight backstage that kept Hilson from performing.
Keri Hilson reps report that she wasn’t even at the concert she said an emergency in L.A., and Power Live organizers said Hilson was just unable to perform for reason out her control. Ciara reps claim there is no “feud”, the story is “not true”, and added Keri Hilson just “missed her plane”. How they know she missed her plane, I don’t know. I do know the Daily News is generally accurate on these matters, so I don’t know who leaked or made up this story.
BUT, it sounds like someone’s reps, may have been caught leaking a story for publicity. If not, then the Daily News is trying to start drama, although they usually go after bigger fish than Ciara or Keri Hilson.
