Just when I thought the Alicia Keys-Swizz Beatz-Mashonda love gate was coming to a close, I find out it’s not over, yet; one person hasn’t had her say about the situation, and that’s Mashonda. You know, I’m a little biased (ok a lot biased) and this is probably a Team Mashonda blog. So naturally I had to post her last words on the matter before we bring this drama to a close. So here it is, in her own words, a special two part interview with VIBE.
PART One: This interview is open and deep, I’m not going to lie y’all. She talks about Swizz Beatz prior affairs, and a miscarriage. This is a must read!!! Anything you ever wanted to know she tells…
I know it was very important for you to sit down with Alicia if she was going to be around your son. Safe to assume that happened?
When I wrote her that Twitter letter everybody wanted to say things like ‘Oh, what do you need to meet her for? It’s not her problem, it’s Swizz’s.” I’m like, ‘You have a kid, go through what I went through and then talk to me.’ I’m not having my son around anybody I don’t know. I don’t give a shit who you are and how much money you have and what management he’s going to be under when he visits you. I need to see you and I need you to see how serious I am about him. And that’s what happened. We had to sit down, and I told her how I felt. I didn’t mention anything else, it was all about my son and it was fine after that. I’m not going sit and talk to [them] about what happened between the three of us. This is about my son.
When did this meeting finally take place?
It took a good year and a half. I think that only happened in March.
How was Alicia’s demeanor?
She just listened.
This all sounds like a really awkward gathering…
It wasn’t awkward; I wouldn’t have done it if I wasn’t ready. I said what I had to say as a mom. It was a whole sit down dinner. So you know how intimate that is. There are certain things we have to do as women in order to move forward.
Very true, have you received an apology from either one of them yet?
Here is the full video to Usher’s There Goes My Baby. I love this song, and it’s also my husband’s ring tone. I call him just so I can listen to his ring tone. Is it me, or did Usher pull a Rihanna, and release all the not so good songs first. I almost slept on this album because of the first two songs, Paper and Daddy’s Home.
Anyway check out the latest Usher video, There Goes My Baby. No teaser, the real full version when you “continue” (Faints)
Author Aliya S King hosted a book release party to celebrate her new novel, Platinum. The book is about the fictional lives of hip-hop wives struggling to maintain a relationship in an industry polluted with groupies and drugs. Two real hip-hop wives, Mashonda and Tashera Simmons, attended the party.
Mashonda of course brought a date, and his name is Michael Honablue, and he’s a producer. Not a music producer like Swizz Beatz, but a TV producer.
For more pics of Mashonda from this event, check out The Chocolate Fashion Blog. For a juicy read, pick up a copy of Platinum at your local bookstore, or click here.
UPDATE: Surprise, surprise! Rihanna’s camp say the rumors are absolutely false. There is no reconciliation with Chris Brown. (I think the “anonymous” source gave it away)…
According to Heat Magazine, Rihanna and Chris Brown reportedly had a phone conversation shortly after his BET Awards performance, you know the one where he cried. I can’t confirm the validity of these statements because the source is obviously not named, but here are the details straight from MTV UK:
The Te Amo singer, who was assaulted by Brown before last years Grammy Awards is said to have spoken to Chris [Brown] over the telephone.
A source told Heat Magazine: “It’s been almost a year since they last spoke, but Rihanna felt like she could try to be friends with Chris again. Seeing how emotional he was on set [at the BET Awards] really touched her. She’d never seen him like that before.”
They added: “Chris told her that he felt
Kevin Federline is right behind Lil Wayne for most celebrity kids in the shortest time, but just like Lil Wayne he’s seems to be a caring and supportive father. Kevin Federline and his girlfriend, Victoria Prince, took all four siblings to the park. Check out some cute pics of Kori (7), Kaleb (5), Sean Preston (4), and Jayden James (3).
