If you’re confused by the headline–don’t worry, so am I. I will try to break it down for you. Ok, here we go. Alexis Houston, a singer and producer, just recently made headlines because she was rumored to be having an affair with the married Today Show host, Matt Lauer. In a press conference last week, Alexis denied the relationship with Lauer.
Here’s where it gets sticky. Alexis Houston was formerly known as Wellington Houston, a man, and alleged cousin of Whitney Houston. In 1996, Whitney sued Alexis, who was then Wellington, for falsely claiming to be related and using the Houston name to defraud a New York doctor of $100,000 with credit cards and forged checks. As for Whitney’s Cousin, Whitney’s rep tells E!, “Alexis Houston has no relation to Whitney in any way, shape or form.” That’s strange because there is a picture of Alexis and Dionne Warwick on Alexis’ myspace page that’s labeled “Me and My cousin Dionne.”

Marey Carey was slated to appear in Tyler Perry’s upcoming movie that is scheduled to start shooting in June. Perry is doing a movie adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s 1975 play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf. Carey has pulled out of the film amidst pregnancy rumors that have been surrounding her and her husband, Nick Cannon.
People.com asked why Carey has mysteriously dropped out and her publicist, Cindy Berger, said, “I’m not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time.” Hmmm. Sounds a bit shady. It doesn’t necessarily mean that Carey’s pregnant, but something’s going on.

Alicia Keys is trying to not appear pregnant, but after the concert pictures from the Radio 1 Big Weekend, is there a doubt in anyone’s mind, unless she was trying to appear round. These media games just remind me of the days when Alicia and Swizz tried to hide their affair relationship from the public, even though everyone knew about it. LeToya Luckett and Kelly Rowland were able to take a picture on the red carpet together at E! 20th Celebration, after years of beefing. I find that amazing considering Beyonce and Kelly can be at the same event, and not see each other. I’m not buying the, it’s “all love” PR spin that Michelle Williams gave us, especially when Beyonce hasn’t stepped up to clear the rumors. Until, I see Kelly and Beyonce together again, or until I hear Beyonce use Kelly Rowland in a sentence, I will remain a little suspicious.

Judging from this editorial pic (when Rihanna graced the January cover of GQ Magazine), I’d say the star’s personal trainer did her job. However, Cindy Percival sued Rihanna late last year for unpaid expenses that totaled over $26k. Now, according to TMZ, Rihanna is saying that her former trainer is lying and is counter-suing the trainer for the same amount. Rihanna also claims that the trainer ran off with $26k in cash. According to Rihanna, she loaned Percival the money, but after being fired, she never paid it back.
You’ve got the winning ticket if you have a combination of beauty and brains. The 23-year old Ada Aimee de la Cruz is the 2009 Miss Universe runner-up. She was just voted as deputy mayor on the winning ticket of Mayor Francisco Fernandez in the May 16th elections in the Santo Domingo Norte region of the Dominican Republic.

PussyCat Dolls lead singer, Nicole Scherzinger, and her partner Derek Hough takes first place on Dancing With The Stars. The nation voted for the two over U.S. figure skater Evan Lysacek and partner Anna Trebunskaya. Earlier on in the competition there were talks about Nicole being a professional dancer and how it was a disadvantage for the other stars. But apparently, that didn’t deter the millions of viewers who wanted her to win. She and her partner delivered a flawless performance and got the judges’ top score of 30. Can’t be mad at that.
