I know you can’t compare artists, but when this man sings I am testifying, unlike other artists. I do wish he would have picked a different song, that people can really relate to so that they can sell more downloads, but this works for me. It took me a while to find his real name. I can’t post it, because he is pretty serious about keeping his priavte life private, and his family out of the lime light. Every other site who has posted his name eventually took it down by lawyer requests. Anyway, Maxwell is half Haitian and Puerto Rican in case you wanted to know. He has roots in Haiti so this is a cause close to his family, and his heart.
Check out Maxwell below on the Oprah Show, brought to you by Dime Wars:
It’s for a good cause, it’s for a good cause. Be positive, be positive.
Rihanna looks pretty as she sings Bob Marlye’sRedemption Song for the Oprah Show, to help raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. And because it’s for a good cause, I’m going to reserve my true thoughts, and say that I’m glad Rihanna was able to lend her voice to help raise awareness for the Haitians. See Gabrielle Union, I can be very uplifting.
I was hoping this was a satirical article from The Onion, but I believe this may be real, if not I hope someone out there can prove this is a hoax of some sort.
A white only basketball league may becoming to a city near you. The All-American Basketball Alliance, lead by commissioner, Don “Moose” Lewis, is a league for whites only. You heard me right “whites only”.
Blacks and foreigners, anyone born outside of this country, will not be allowed to join the league. The “White Only” league is tired of the street ball played in the NBA, and wants to return to fundamental basketball that does not include fighting with the crowd, or players grabbing their crotch. And here’s the kicker, the league was started because whites are now a minority:
The league’s commissioner, Don “Moose” Lewis, claims that he doesn’t “hate anyone of color. But people of white, American-born citizens are in the minority now.” Thus, he says, the All-American Basketball Alliance would be “a league for white players to play fundamental basketball, which they like.”
Lewis said he wants to emphasize fundamental basketball instead of “street-ball” played by “people of color.”
“Would you want to go to the game and worry about a player flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch?” he said. “That’s the culture today, and in a free country we should have the right to move ourselves in a better direction.” {Source 12}
It will not be long, she looks ready to pop. Poor thing, that last trimester is hard, and although she’s looks beautiful, she also looks she’s ready to get it over with. Christina Milian and husband, The Dream, are expecting their new bundle of love in February; that’s next month. Christina Milian Nash and Keyshia Cole should get together for a play date.
Speaking of babies, is anyone else annoyed by Jackie Reed needy role on Let’s Talk About Pep. I like Jackie Reed a lot, and I admire her career moves, but she feels like her biological clock is ticking, and she is scaring the men with talk of marriage and babies on the first date. Anyway, the cast of Let’s Talk About Pep were all spotted at Club Quo in NYC, to promote the new season. Isn’t this like the third reality show for Pep on Vh1?
I couldn’t figure out why Lisa Raye took a dig at Vivica A. Fox regarding her cougar status with club promoter Slimm. I understand Lisa Raye is bitter that her marriage to a cheating man didn’t work out, but I’m not sure why she’s trying to drag everyone into her divorce. So what would lead Lisa Raye to make the following comments about Vivica A Fox:
Naw, no! Uh uh, I can’t say that ’cause I’m too grown for that! I ain’t no Vivica either, honey. I ain’t with the Cougar sh*t! You know my reputation. You were damn right the first time you saw me at Akon’s birthday party, you were like, ‘how does she do it? She sniffs out money.’ You damn right ’cause I would not be a Cougar. She’s not a gold digger and she ain’t gon’ be with a broke ni**a!
Here’s my thing, you would never catch me like that. You know what I mean? Because that ain’t my style. I mean, like the pictures that they did of Vivica kissing and hugging on that boy. You would never catch me doing that.
Really, well according to Sandra Rose, Lisa Raye has been caught doing that, and here are the pictures to prove it. Sounds like a bit of jealousy to me; perhaps a missed opportunity to get a cub.
Bad Girls Club lives up to its name as we watch yet another fight. This time Flo literally threw Amber by the hair across the concrete. That Flo is strong! Although Amber got her backside handed to her on a platter, she chose to forgive Flo and allow the She-man character to remain in the house. Flo is real strong.
I know this is old, but during Mo’Nique’s acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, she said, “I celebrate this award with every person that’s ever been touched. It’s now time to tell.” For some reason people were confused by what she meant by that statement. She was not saying anyone who was “touched by the film”, she was saying anyone who has been molested.
So here is an interview from a 2008 interview, where Mo’Nique talks about her older brother started molesting her at a young age of seven, and how her parents refused to believe it. I know it’s hard for people to talk about such issues, but talking is the only way to stop it.
“I was molested by my older brother. And even when I confronted him and told my parents, he said I was lying, and nothing was really done.”
Mo’Nique added that her brother molested her four times over the course of four years. He often used candy to lure her into the bathroom, where much of the abuse took place, beginning when Mo’Nique was just seven. Her parents, never believed her. She explained:
“because me and my brother were both their children, and I just don’t know the kind of position they felt they were in. My father was very upset, but it never got mentioned again. I’ll never forget my mother saying, ‘If it’s true, it will surface again,’ and I remember thinking, ‘Why would I lie? Why is there even an if in this?’ I was angry with them for so long, because I felt as if they should have seen what was happening. My brother was a monster to me.”
Her brother went on to serve 15 years in prison for sexually abusing another girl and has never apologized for Mo’Nique’s sexual abuse.
“He still acts like he doesn’t know what I’m talking about. So screw hurting your feelings. You need to get your feelings hurt, and you need to get some help. {Source}
I told you in an earlier post, Kelly Rowland is gearing up for 2010, and a new year of freedom from her pervious management (Papa Knowles), as well as a new album. As promised, here are the pictures from her Alter Ego shoot with the notorious Derek Blanks. I pray this is the year for Kelly Rowland to shine, and I pray her old “management” allows her a fair chance to shine.
