Here are some red carpet pictures from the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. I can’t say that I was impressed by any of these looks, except maybe Jennifer Hudson. Rihanna dress was actually beautiful, but it didn’t seem to fit for the occasion. Lady GaGa looked like deconstructed Cinderalla, and Beyonce had glitter highlights in her lacefront. Ciara’s dress reminded me of Elvira, or something you would wear on a date with Dracula. Not necessarily bad, just interesting. I think the Pre-Grammy brought out the better fashion style.
Rihanna sat with Katy Perry, and boyfriend, comedian Russell Brand. If you want to have fun during an otherwise boring event, sit with two trouble makers like Katy Perry and Russell Brand. Now, that’s the Rihanna I like to see.
Check out Rihanna and Ciara in the same picture. It looks like their dresses are fighting. They are both fabulous apart, but together, they look lost in a heap of feathers and chiffon. Is Usher really that short?

Clive Davis hosted the star studded event, The Annual Pre-Grammy Gala in Beverly Hills Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA. Rihanna and Ciara went for the puffy edge, and actually pulled it off looking nothing shy of amazing. Actually, Ciara reminded me of Lil Bo Peep, but in a fashion forward couture kind of a way.
Some blast from the past hit up the event including, Toni Braxton, Mya, and India.Arie. Mary J Blige and Kendu Isaacs were kissing on the red carpet, I guess to show the world they’re not fighting anymore at events. Jennifer Hudson, Keri Hilson, and Usher worked the red carpet, as well. Jennifer Hudson is trying to get slim on is.
If the stars were not at the Clive Davis Pre Grammy Party, they were at the Directors Guild of America Awards with Tyrese Gibson plus his hair, Zoe Saldana (Avatar), and Gabourey Sidibe (Precious). Zoe Saldana dress was probably the hottest outfit on the night.
After all the partying, Celebs hit up the 3rd Annual Grammy Midnight Brunch. Stars included Michelle Williams of Destiny Child showing off her new short hair-do. Ashanti, Tia Mowry and Hosea Sanchez from The Game, and Ne-Yo with Victoria Secret Model and girlfriend, Jessica White were also present.

If this is the route Kelis is taking to maintain her uniqueness and style, then I believe she’s won. I don’t know what happened since the baby and the divorce filings against husband Nas, but I’m thinking she has lost something. If her goal is to prevent them young cats from her jacking her style, then I believe she has won this battle, and if she keeps dressing like this, I think she may have won the war, as well.
So is this pressing the fashion envelope, or is this just hot mess? Too each his own, but don’t expect me not to have an opinion. In all fairness to Kelis, this outfit is what sh wore to the Data Awards, so maybe that explains it. I hope!
Perhaps I have been too hard on Brad Pitt and Swizz Beatz over their extra marital affairs, and leaving their marriages to pursue a relationship with their “soul mates”. Although, I don’t like how the relationship started, I will say their is a noticeable change in both men, for the better. Brad Pitt donated $1 Million to Haiti relief fund, and we can’t forget the fact that he he moved to New Orleans to aid in the rebuilding efforts, after Hurricane Katrina. When I see Brad with Zahara and his other children, I get all teary-eyed…
Before his relationship with Alicia Keys, I’ve never really heard of Swizz Beatz being the first in the line to help with a crisis. In fact, there was little to no press regarding Swizz Beatz and his philanthropic work. Not saying that he didn’t do any (I heard he sells his painting for charity); just saying it wasn’t publicized or as visible.
One of the unsung heroes behind the Haiti Telethon Collaboration of Jay-Z, Bono, Rihanna, and The Edge, was song writer/producer Swizz Beatz; who created the song Stranded.
Now that he’s with Alicia Keys, perhaps we will see more of this side of him, as well as some his art work:

Anyway, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz have been seen several times shopping together for a New York condo, and now reports are in that they plan to buy a $14.5 Million condo that once housed the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Denzel Washington, and Nicole Kidman. Rumors also suggest that Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys are secretly engaged. Rumors that the reps also deny.
