In an recent interview Chris Brown finally opens up about the night of the assault, and why he doesn’t discuss the details that lead to him assaulting ex-girlfriend, Rihanna. He tells Times Online that he refuses to discuss the case because he just wants to be responsible for his part in the matter without demonizing or blaming Rihanna, and to avoid he said / she said scenario played out in the media. He also reveals the reason why Rihanna left him, and he implies that it wasn’t to “save the lives of young girls” (I think he may have called her out, again).
Chris Brown discusses the Rihanna assault photos:
It’s unbearable to view,” Brown says quietly. “It’s something that I have to live with every time they show it. I’m embarrassed that I couldn’t control my anger at that time. It’s a reminder that I have to be in control of my own actions and not anyone else’s. My actions today and in the past shape my future.”
Chris Brown on keeping details private:
Was it alcohol, or drugs? His answer is short but categoric: “No.”
Ever since that date, Brown has refused to discuss exactly what happened in their rented Lamborghini. “Otherwise it just continues to escalate. It keeps the negativity going. If I did talk, people would only say, ‘Oh, he’s just saying stuff in order to sell records,’ and it’d be a scandal all over again. I’ve looked at Michael Jackson’s career and how the public totally turned on him, then switched and got back with him again, back and forth. Other artists, too. They throw you to the dogs. They don’t see you as a person. So I’ve just concentrated on accepting full responsibility for the wrong things I’ve done, without going into detail about what happened or what made me lose… I just feel that it’s the right way forward.”
Chris Brown on domestic violence and Rihanna:
“Domestic violence is totally wrong whatever the circumstances, no exceptions,” he tells me. “But a lot of people think it’s a one-sided issue, ie, only men on women. Let’s give an example… I’m not saying verbatim it’s what happened, but if a woman hits her man it’s looked on as if it’s him who’s not being macho. It’s kind of laughed at, like [he imitates a mocking male voice], ‘Ha-ha, your girl beat you up! Not much of a man, are you?’ But if a man, let’s say, were to defend himself or to use force back, then he’s wrong – and in every sense he is wrong, of course, because there are choices that you make. It’s always a mutual situation though. I feel if force is being used by both of them, then both are wrong.
Chris Brown on why he and Rihanna called it quits:
With this in mind, I ask about Rihanna’s decision, post-reconciliation, finally to end their relationship for good, citing her responsibilities as a role model (she told Sawyer she feared that, by taking up with Brown again, she might send the wrong message to other women dealing with abusive partners). “I don’t know how true that was,” he says, shaking his head slowly before coming close to saying he believes her eventual decision to dump him was a career-conscious PR move, that she feared association with him was damaging her image.
I think that interview [with Sawyer] helped put things in perspective. It just really made me focus on me. I think previously I was too focused on love. There’s nothing wrong with that, but sometimes love can make you lose sight of your goal, of what your purpose is. I’m always going to have love in my heart for her, but I’m not heartbroken right now. I’m moving forward. I will always be remorseful for the situation but at this point, I’m just living my life.”
Chris Brown on making amends, and taking responsibility:
“Not knowing what public scrutiny I’d be held up to, or how people would perceive me when I go places, of course I felt that to some extent,” he says. “But I’m only 20. This is a bad mistake I made, but one that I’m not denying nor running away from. I don’t believe I should let it shatter my life. I’m owning up to the wrongs I’ve done and am working on myself. I’m trying to find the positive amid the negative. I’m urging people to learn from what I did and not take the same route. If I do that – act as an example – then I feel I have no reason to go through the rest of my life with my head hanging down.” {Read entire interview}

I don’t believe Rihanna left him to save young girls either. She might have considered it after leaving him but the decision, in my opinion, was to save her career and escape the scrutiny if she stayed with him.

He missed his opportunity to save his career when he stupidly decided not to reveal the truth on Larry King. Everyone knows that he is a good kid, and was a good kid his whole life, and waited for him to tell us fans the truth about the matter. He said he didn’t tell the truth because of love, but that is a lie. He didn’t tell the truth out of fear and no one respects a lieing wimp. He should have told the truth and hired some extra bodyguards.
Anyone who knows anything about caribbean men and women, know that the women down their suffer rape, violence and severe abuse from their men. Chris took the beatdown for some caribbean joker who did her wrong. Rape was not a crime in the caribbean until 2005!!! There is no telling how many times that rihanna been raped and kicked around. Prostitution of men women and children from 8 to 80 is LEGAL right now. Those women have a lot of issues. They live off of the sex trade.

cowards who have been abused look for someone who is weaker than themselves to abuse.rihanna would have never tried this on a caribbean, or an older stronger american man. she picked her victim carefully like all abusers do.

chris’s mother was his primary role model, since his real father wasn’t around much, so he is repeating the same mistake she made by suffering in silence. he really needs to see a good psychiatrist so he doesn’t become severely depressed and suicidal. Almost every american who has been abused by a caribbean ends up suicidally depressed. We lost the beautiful phyllis hyman to a jamaican, lisraye is still severely depressed, as is terry mcmillan and 99% of americans who get involved with africans and caribbeans. americans need to learn

that all black people are not our people.
africans separate themselves by tribes. caribbeans have their own separate communities, and both of these groups are jealousy of and spitefully use and abuse american blacks. we need to be americans first, and black second. there is NO black solidarity, and never will be. THEY AREN’T SMART ENOUGH TO WANT IT. THAT’S WHY AFRICANS ALWAYS GENOCIDING EACH OTHER.
