I made the comment on twitter last week that some famous always dies in December. A few days later we lost Chris Henry, and yesterday we found out that we also lost Brittany Murphy and Alaina Reed Hall.
Brittany Murphy was a talented actress and although she’s most famous for Clueless and 8 Mile, my favorite movie of hers was Girl Interrupted. She played a young woman in a psych ward abused by her father, and her character was obsessed with baked chicken. I don’t want to speculate on her death or spread rumors, so I will update everyone on what’s going on when official statements are released.
Brittany Murphy was only 32. She levaes behind a husband, Simon Montjack. The cause of death is reported as cardiac arrest, with some news source reporting a heart attack. My friend, Hope, pointed out on Facebook that heart attack and cardiac arrest are two different things, so hopefully the autopsy will reveal what really happened.

Alaina Reed Hall, 63, is best known to many as Rose Holloway on 227. In fact I never knew her real name. She is most famous to me as Olivia on Sesame Street. I know I’m probably telling my age, but I remember her beautiful voice singing to me during my early years. I also remember when she left Sesame Street to pursue other acting interests, which landed her a role on 227. The sad thing is Alaina Reed Hall died last week from complications of breast cancer, and the news is just now surfacing. At times like this I appreciate black blogs, Ms. Alaina may gone, but she certainly will not be forgotten.

Hey Mrs. G. In regards to your comment on appreciating Black Blogs, I was saying this to someone the other day when questioned about why my blog reports on mostly Black news. Mainstream media is slow on reporting (if at all) on a lot of Black celebrity news.
