I agree completely! Both men have valid points. Russell should let go of the ageism, though. I’m younger than Russell, I like hip-hop, yet I also find value in what Dr. Cosby says.

Exactly why we need to stop focusing on music as the cause of problems.

What they fail to realize is that to tackle the problem we need multiple solutions and that it’s not a one solution problem. Blaming people or throwing money at it will not always work. I enjoy this sort of dialogue though.

You are so correct. We all need to help. Those who can do better, do better. Those who can teach, teach better. IF everyone would stop being so dam selfish and greedy, we wouldn’t have these problem.

I agree with you. Yes, people can be dealt a hard hand w/ the environment that they grow up in, but that does not determine what they have to be in the future.

I will comment on this post though. I could pass up an opportunity to say that just when hip-hop is running low on beefs, Bill and Russell will get things fired back up…lol. I agree with most of what Dr. Cosby says but many don’t mainly because of his way of words-he is not one to mince words at all. I can also support Russell’s view because he is always down to offer an educated and less evasive opinion.
