LOL! I just left this comment over on Villager’s blog so I’ll just copy and paste it here as well…
Congrats to the President on this prestigious award. I hope that it helps to keep him focused and inspired to complete the works that he has begun.
I think people are getting caught up on comparing him the POTUS to MLK, which is an unfair comparison because we are in very different times facing very different issues.
People should instead focus on the guidelines which state, “According to Nobel’s will, the Peace Prize is to go to whoever “shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses(taken from http://nobelpeaceprizedotorg/“.
He has done and is continuing to do that.
He is NOT MLK, He has a different agenda, He is the 44th POTUS!

1) I hope it’s blunt, in that you’re telling it like it is, and not “blunt” meaning that’s what you’ve been smoking.

2) It’s “naive” not “nieve”. Nieve means clinched fist, and yes, in that case I am “nieve” rebel.

3)Obviously you don’t know anything about me or this blog, because if you did, you would know that I focus on more than just Rihanna in Paris, and that I have a political blog, and that I started the proud black voter movement in the blogsphere.

4)He’s not the first political vote from the Nobel committee and he won’t be the last. He did not vote for himself and was nominated because they felt he was symbolic of hope. I agree that he made so many people think they can do the impossible. So for that reason alone, he’s deserving.

5) If you read my comments you would know that, I think it’s too early to tell if he will fulfill his promises, and I will leave that up to history.

6) Most importantly, when one door closes another one opens. This is dedicated to all those Conservatives who want America to fail, and bragged about how the world hates Obama because he didn’t win the 2016 Olympic bid. Well, the world is watching and they do admire what Obama symbolizes. Now all those Conservatives are eating crow this week…sending their minions to attack…

7) Why are you bringing race into the equation, I didn’t mention anything about his race. It’s so funny, Conservatives always claiming liberals play the race card, but every chance they get, they have something to say about race. It’s nice of you to reduce him to nothing but a black man, as if that’s all he could ever be. But, the fact that you did let’s me know the spirit in which your hate arises.

I respect those that think it’s too soon, I get it, but I have disdain for those that claim he hasn’t done anything.

9) If you don’t like Rihanna in Paris, I can think of 50 or so political blogs you can patronize, and my feelings certainly won’t be hurt, but I’m glad you read the post about Rihanna in Paris , it tells me a lot about your rhetoric.

Mrs Grape, you cannot be that nieve to think he actually deserves this award? You are elated when you heard the news you say? Ok, well do tell me what u think HE HAS DONE (not said) to be so deserving? Givin this man props jus because he is black? *rolling eyes*. Evil comes in all shades….ever hear of the illuminati and the bloodlines?….its a shame you dont use your web popularity to really educate people on more than what Rihanna is wearing in paris

I think it’s early and we don’t know what type of person he can turn out to be, but he does deserve it for ushering in a new hope. Hope goes a long way, as does the promise of diplomacy.

So whether or not he deserves it has yet to be seen, and this vote was to let him know the world is watching and to hold him to that track…

Only time will tell if he “deserves” it…

even obama knows he doesn’t deserve this award – watched his speech.

He won it because he actually tries to use diplomacy, first, which is a sea change from the last administration, and the world wants to encourage it.

I think it’s awfully early, but the international community voted, and they’re definitely trying to send a message…

he wins it for …..
