During an interview with Tim Westwood and addresses accusations that he banned Chris Brown from performing on the BET Awards and dissing The Game.
On Chris Brown’s apology
“We Are all flawed human beings. All a person can do is apologize. Everyone should be allowed to make mistakes. It happens”
On Blocking Chris Brown from Performing at the BET Awards
That’s the silliest rumor I’ve ever heard. First let me categorically deny that, that’s not even my style. If I have a problem with Chris brown, I have a problem with Chris Brown. I haven’t said anything live or behind the scenes. I don’t agree with what he did and that’s it. But as far as not letting him perform on BET, that’s ridiculous, that’s stupid and that’s a sucker move. I wouldn’t do it. And people commenting on rumors, that’s a sucker move.
On The Game’s Diss Track:
“Tell me exactly what I said….(Tim: you mentioned his name, Jim Jones’ name, Dame Dash’s name…) I said I’m not talking about, this, this. I’m not…is that a diss? ‘Oh, you hurt my feelings.’ Tell groupie (The Game) to get over it…if that’s a diss, then wear that. Tell groupie to get over it.”
That was very well said until he responded about The Game. Still confused about that one.
UPDATE: Nas names son Knight, does not confirm or deny if he was there for the birth. Just says do not believe the media.
UPDATE: According to AllHipHop, Nas was not allowed to witness the birth of his son. I hope this is not true because that is so wrong on so many levels, no matter what the parents are going through. Apparently, Nas rushed to the hospital only to find out he was not allowed to attend the actual birth:
Nas is in New York City today, anxiously awaiting the arrival of his son. It was his intention to be there for the birth, but unfortunately he has not been allowed to be present,” a source close to the rapper told AllHipHop.com. “While this is clearly heartbreaking to him, Nas continues to offer his support and love to his new baby boy and his mother.”
Kelis is in labor, according to TMZ, and will be skipping a court date sched
uled for today:
There’s a damn good reason Kelis is skipping out on today’s scheduled court date to fight Nas for child support and baby and prenatal expenses — she’s giving birt
h right now!!!
TMZ has learned the singer is currently in labor, about to deliver a brand new baby boy.
We also know rapper Nas — the baby daddy — is definitely not by her side.
The two were scheduled to battle over expenses. She says he’s paid nothing. Nas claims he’s paid some.
Now, I love Jada, and so please do not take this negative, but Jay-Z needs to come out with a song called “Death To PhotoShop” because it’s giving us normal women some false hope. Jada is in great shape, you can tell she works out and does whatever it takes to stay in shape and to stay tone. However, she’s a petit woman who had two children, and like some of us, she was left with lose skin and a few stretch marks on her tummy. Now, I know strech marks don’t sell magazines, but Shape Magazine is creating images of women that are just not real. I know Jada Pinkett-Smith likes to keep it 100, and is not ashamed of her body, but these magazines have other things in mind.
This is how Jada looks normally, and I am amazed that she has abs like this after having two children. In fact I am jealous that she has abs like this after having two children, so the PhotoShop on the cover of Shape Magazine is just not necessary. Jada is a beautiful woman, and Will is a happy man.
Jasmine Guy is directing the theater revival For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf by Ntozake Shange. In an interview with Essence, Jasmin Guy reveals why she handpicked Robin Givens and Nicole Ari Parker to star in this new stage production of the play.
ESSENCE.COM: What attracted you to Robin Givens and Nicole Ari Parker to add them to the cast?
GUY: I knew the talent that I already had and with the new infusion of Nicole and Robin it was a great fit. Nicole lives in Atlanta and had come to all the plays I’ve done. I loved her energy, joy and accessibility, and as an actor I knew she could handle the material since she came from theater. She was stunning and untouched by that and her spirit was soaring. With Robin, I didn’t know her, but just knew of her. I thought she needed this like I needed it. I told her to do this for herself so she could have the experience and be awakened. She answered the call and that moved me. We don’t gain anything without taking risks in our lives. As actors, we can work on a shallow level and be accepted as good. But I want to be great like the women I respect in the field, and all of them have come from theater, from Angela Bassett to Ruby Dee.
Overseas on tour promoting her album ‘In A Perfect World’, Keri Hilson was asked who she would prefer between Kanye and Ne-Yo. Here’s what Keri had to say, interesting….
“That’s hard because there are things I like about both. Ne-Yo is a gentlemen. For real- in real life. He’s sensitive and sweet and probably cuddly. He’s the guy you would pillow talk with. Kanye on the other hand, he would probably talk about himself a lot but he’s incredible swag. He’s very confident, has a great sense of style and makes incredible music- well both of them do. I don’t know. I probably would like a guy with a little bit more edge than Ne-Yo, so it might be leaning closer to Kanye, but I can take a lot more edge than Kanye.”
Kanye may have more swag, but if all he’s gonna do is talk about himself and be arrogant, I would choose Ne-Yo anyday. Despite recent news about Ne-Yo’s break down onstage, I would still go for the sentimental gentleman than someone with a huge Ego! Ladies help me out here.
Shaquille O’Neal is the latest celeb to jump on the reality show bandwagon.
He will compete in a new sporting event each week in a new ABC reality series, “Shaq Vs.,” which will debut on Aug. 18, the network announced today.
Over the course of the series, O’Neal will challenge Olympian Michael Phelps in swimming; Super Bowl champ Pittsburgh Steeler Ben Roethlisberger in football; reigning U.S. Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon champion Serena Williams in tennis; championship fighter Oscar de la Hoya in boxing; St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols in baseball; and Olympic gold medalists Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor in beach volleyball.
According to USA Today, O’Neal said he came up with the idea as a fun way to help train for the NBA season and figured sports fans “would really want to see an athlete play another sport.” He knew most of the athletes and recruited some of them on Twitter. Filming begins Wednesday.
Is it me, or does it seem reality shows are getting a bit out of hand. Just about everybody and their mama (literally) are doing a show. It’s beyond ridiculous! What happened to the days of great sitcoms like ‘The Cosby Show’, ‘A Different World’, ‘The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air’ and ‘Family Matters’ etc.? I miss those days. They were/are classics.
I am happy that Chris Brown took the time to do this, and I’m glad he did not blame anyone, except himself. Some people will find something negative to say about his apology, but it seems like he’s trying to make a step in the right direction. What happened that night was wrong, and that’s not debatable, and I do feel their is more to learn from this situation from a role model perspective. I am not an advocate of throw the book at him, and I am not advocate of attacking the victim, either. For whatever reasons, publicity or sincereity, this needed to be said. I’m not on Chris Brown’s side, and I’m not on Rihanna’s side, I am on the side of all the fans who felt let down in the way this situation was handled.
I would hate to stand next to Beyonce for any extended length of time. She is looks amazing, while doing simple charity work. In case you didn’t know:Beyonce Knowles has joined hands with Hamburger Helper and Feeding America (one of the nation’s largest food non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger). There goal is provide over 3.5 million meals to local food banks to battle hunger in America.

We give Lil Kim a hard time with nick names like Kim Lee because she seems to be turning into a lighter looking Asian woman, and we did the same thing with Michael Jackson, but why is it alright for people to tan to the point of no recognition. I thought this was Thandie Newton with a tan, but it’s Victoria Beckham(Posh Spice).
