What is going on with Irv Gotti and The Inc. these days. Weeks ago Irv did an interview with MTV where he stated he would release Ashanti from the label because their relationship isn’t the same anymore. Now, Lloyd, another artist on the label is parting ways with his one time mentor.
R&B singer LLOYD has parted ways with his longtime record label The Inc.- just a month after ASHANTI walked out of her contract at the music firm.Ashanti left the label, run by music mogul Irv Gotti, in May (09) after years of reportedly frosty relations with The Inc. bosses.And Lloyd has now followed her out the door after releasing three albums with the company – but insists the split was amicable.He tells AllHipHop.com, “I’m ready for a change. There’s no bad blood. I just feel I need to take more control over my career and get a fresh start. Hopefully Irv can understand my position.”Lloyd’s manager, Henry ‘Noonie’ Lee, adds: “Even though Lloyd is appreciative of the opportunity that has been afforded him by The Inc, he feels it’s time for him to move on and seek opportunities that will allow him to build and enhance his brand.” {Source}

I want Irv to just admit there is no Inc anymore. the label is basically a name and a logo at this point. However the way things are going, the company logo may be walking soon too.

If you are successful on a label, then why leave? Unless there is some poor management and marketing of the artist, then I can understand-that’s why Bad Boy is without any good artists now. But I don’t think anyone saw this split coming even more since it appears that Lloyd and Gotti have a decent relationship on his reality show (which I love by the way).
