This afternoon on Capitol in Washington D.C. former Senator from Illinois Barack Obama was sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts today as the 44th U.S. President. Obama (the first African-American President-Elect) took the Oath using the same Bible former President Abraham Lincoln held during his own inauguration. Michelle (in a custom yellow Isabel Toledo yellow sheath and matching coat) was right her husband’s side as well as their children (Malia and Sasha).

Michelle previously worn designs by Cuban-born American designer Isabel Toledo last year on the campaign trail. Bold statement in color and design was what I thought of her pick. (I know she was cold!)Malia and Sasha’s colorful coats are from Crewcuts by J. Crew according to AP. Like her daughters, Michelle decided to wear J.Crew leather gloves and kitten heel Jimmy Choo’s.

UPDATE: For the Neighborhood Ball which air exclusively on ABC, Michelle selected a one shoulder ivory Jason Wu gown. The First Lady previously wore a black and white sheath dress for the Barbara Walters Special (see left). Beyonce performed the Etta James classic, “At Last” for the happy couple.

I am an emotional wreck and my heart is so over joyed. I am product to be an American and I know that the good Lord has His hands in this.
First Lady’s dress – Her style is somewhat plain, classy & old fashioned, and if it works for her than that’s all that matters. Personally, my opinion, the itchy looking yelllow-greenish outfit that she wore at the swearing-in ceremony aged her and the ivory wedding type gown was of too much fabric at the bottom, but overall she was presentable. And my black president was as handsome as he could be, with his fine self!!

What a great day in American history. It really makes me proud to be an American. President Obama is definitely in my prayers. I wish him the best as he works to turn our country around.
