So many choices, I just had a hard time with this one. I’m so glad it’s over because of the results. I am on cloud nine and I feel like playing some Lil’ John, and getting crunk, but I decided to play it low key. So, I picked my favorite singer in the world, singing one of the oldest songs we know…
Let’s do that again, this time with Ms Whitney Houston.
This is the last time, I promise. My heart goes out to Jennifer Hudson and her family. This song just has new meaning, and I just can’t get enough.

The Marvin Gaye Star-Spangled Banner may be the all-time greatest public performance anywhere. I was floored back in the day when I heard it.

I never heard Marvin Gaye sing the Star-Spangled Banner before.
Whitney is the classic and one of the best renditions ever.
I hope that Jennifer is doing well.

I’ve got to vote for Marvin as the best rendition…with Whitney as a very close second (if not a tie for first)…
Spectacular choice…I am in tears, yet again!

Are you trying to kill a sista?…lol
The Marvin Gaye version – exceptional. I still remember it like yesterday.
Whitney – as much as we joke on her, she will forever be The Voice
Jennnifer: Speechless
Love the picks.

I’ve n ever heard Marvin Gaye sing that song that is a keeper for sure. Jennifer’s version is quite splendid as well. It’s hard not to feel this song this week.

Wow, that was a great rendition! Marvin even makes an anthem rock, lol.
My OSF was a combination – a link to another moment in Presidential history and a dedication to a late friend – and I thank you for stopping by, reading the post and helping me honor a friendship of many years.
