I guess I have to reveal my age on this theme. I also had to do a lot of research to find the perfect songs. I found a group that I love and the name of that group is Rose Royce. When my mom and I went on road trips, this first song we always song together; it was one of the many songs we shared. I can listen to this song on repeat non-stop all day everyday. It’s just one of those songs you can chill to. It’s from the movie Car Wash, and I know I’ve played it here before, but I just love this song so much.
I Wanna Get Next To You
This second song is also by Rose Royce. This is the worst song to listen to after a break-up, it will make you want to drink a bottle of vodka and act a fool with your ex. I wouldn’t know, but when Mary J Blige remade this song, that’s exactly what she was doing. Let’s just be happy she has moved on from those days.

What a pick! How can I forget Car Wash with Franklin Ajai and the big Afro, trying his best to go out with Mona and the song “I Want to Get Next To You” playing. Super Choice!

Nice songs. It is funny how you went from I want to be next to you . . .to . . .I am going down cause you don’t want to get next to me.
Matter- of -fact those are the songs that describe everything I am going through right now. LOL how sad.
*sighs
Have a good weekend.

There is nothing wrong with a twin spin by Rose Royce! Now I feel like watching “Car Wash”. Watch out for that pat of butter on the ceiling!

Mrs. G,
You picked two great choices. I have always liked Rose Royce. Listening to their music brings back some pleasant memories.
Now I am gonna get whoever thought this birth year stuff up! Tomorrow is my birthday and my birth year is 1953. So I had to do some serious work on finding some music.
I count it as all good! There is nothing like learning something to keep your brain stimulated!
Happy OSF!
Have a Great Weekend!

Really great choice with Rose Royce. In my mind Rose Royce and the movie Car Wash are stuck together. My dad took my sibs and me to see this movie and we laughed and laughed…thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I posted a day late since I was on vacation. I thought it was only fair that I tell my age like everyone else.

year I graduated from high school and went to college. Played at all the parties and in my girlfriend’s rooms when we were “pining” over our love lives” in having a crush or when our relationships went down south and thought it was the end of the world.
