I had a hard time with this theme, because I do like being myself, but growing up there is one woman I just admired so much although she was a fictional character, she embodies every aspect of a whole woman. I admire this woman on and off the small screen, and her spirit is larger than life…This is one of my favorites…

This second video comes from one of my favorite movies from childhood. It only came on TV once, but I loved this movie so much I wore out the VHS. The name of it was Polly, and it was Directed by Debbie Allen. The movie Polly has so many women in it to admire, including Vanessa Bell Calloway, who is not only a great dancer, but also a great singer. Here’s to poise, spirit, and class.

What creative and wonderful choices!
I’ve always loved Claire (Phylicia Rashad)…just one of those women who you put on the “Admired” list…

Happy Old School Friday. Unique choices, and good ones. I had a rough time with this theme and ended up pawning it off on my daughter. She did good though. Here inspirational choices are India.Arie and Alicia Keys, and you can find them here.

I had a difficult time with this one because I never wanted to be anyone. Now, a fictional character is good cause then I could be perfect.

Inspiration all up and through here today! I enjoyed the first video with the chorus. Matthew 6:33 is so true!
Polly (1989) is going on my list of movies to see.
Thanks and happy OSF!

Girl this week was hard and I was sure I’d skip it. Growing up I thought I was THE STUFF and I wasn’t thinking about trying to be like someone else. I was (and I kid you not) thinking about all the people who’d want to be like ME. LMAO
But that’s the Leo in me that had me acting up.

Nice choices! I remember the movie Polly!
And I also remember the episode of the Cosby show. The guy standing behind and to the right of her looks like a young Byron Cage.

Hey, the way I look at it is that while I love being myself, there’s nothing wrong with admiring the strengths and talents of others. Makes me want to strive harder.
Indeed these are unique choices and I remember that episode and how hauntingly beautiful Claire Huckleberry (lol) sounded.
OK and you’ve schooled me because I’m not sure I’ve hard of Polly. I feel shamed. LOL!

I know that I am nearly a week late, but hey, better than never right. I am not too sure about the second vid, but I think it is safe to say that ‘Claire Huxtable’ was everyone’s TV mom; she was like the perfect wife/mother/professional woman and who knew she had such a beautiful voice. INCREDIBLE!
