I’m Convinced: Beyonce Is Pregnant Or Has Been Pregnant Sunday Inspirations: Great Mood
May 30

When I thought about this week’s theme, instantly the O’Jays and Patti Labelle came to mind, but after doing some research I also found out that Teddy Pendagrass, Delfonics, and the Stylistics were also a product of the Philadelphia Soul Movement. So I decided that I will cheat somewhat and turn my attention to the Philly Neo-Soul movement, and the queen of that movement is none other than Jill Scott.

Next in line is Musiq Soulchild, and this is one of my favorite songs from him. Maybe because I fell in love with bestfriend as well, but it worked out for the best.

Last but not least is Vivian Green. I loved her first album, her second album wasn’t that great, but I’m sure you remember this gem of a song.

Um yea that’s cheating! But since you’re the mother of this meme we’ll have to allow it. LOL! I’ll be doing a massive post next week on other Philly neosoul (outside of the usual suspects) that ya’ll need to be checking out.

Forgot to say that I agree with you re: Vivian’s albums. The sophmore jinx was definitely in effect here. I enjoyed seeing her live though.

The Philly Neo-Soul is definitely a viable contender in this theme. I loved that Vivian Green song, and I love Musiq. I liked his first album the best but I do love the song “Teachme”.
And Jill Scott…no words even need to be said!

I bypass OSF for the week, but I definitely dig your picks MrsG. I love Vivian’s song; that song takes me back to……2003! Whatever happened to Vivian wit’ her cute self?

Musiq Soulchild’s cut was good! He broke it down on the dynamics of relationships
