According to Access Hollywood, it’s confirmed that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are engaged. Someone slap me now, I’ve been so wrapped up in Obama v. Wright, that I forgot I was a celebrity news blogger, and this came across my e-mail and I almost went into shock. Little Nick Cannon be putting it down, I’m saying this is the year of the cougars. First, Ray J and Whitney Houston, and now Nick and Mariah. There were rumors circulating that they were dating, but I didn’t think a potential marriage could come of it.

Some of the best music of all come from men with a process on their hair. During the 50’s this style became quite popular, along with new soulful sounds. My pick is one of my favorite bands from the 80’s when the style came back with a vengeance, this group is known for their fast hits, but I prefer their slow grooves. Thanks to flynetonline.com we have pictures of Tia Mowry and Cordy Hardrict’s wedding. The wedding was very simple and beautiful, the bride walked down the aisle as Kenny Lattimore sang “For You” live. The couple married outdoors in a ceremony held at the Four Seasons-Biltmore in Santa Barbara. Her twin sister, Tamera, was her maid of honor. She wore a couture dress by designer Kevan Hall. I’m happy, we need more actress like Tia and Tamera in Hollywood. She’s come along way since Sister Sister, and The Game is one of my favorite shows.

This day will forever be engraved in my memory. Today is my sons first birthday, the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s assassination, and now the union of Beyonce and Jay-Z in holy matrimony. They are literally preparing for a their nuptials as I type. Can this be the moment that has been predicted over and over for more than five years? TMZ has a live timeline:

UPDATE: People magazine source says the two are married, and the lavish event was an after party. [Excerpt] Though there is no official confirmation, the friend says, “It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair – close friends and family.”

UPDATE 6:21 PM ET: Now we’re told Jay-Z’s mom arrived with Beyonce’s mother in the same ride. Interesting.

UPDATE: 6:23 PM ET: Jay-Z’s Maybach (insanely expensive) is en route. It left from Jigga’s other apartment in Midtown. Don’t know who’s in it.

UPDATE: 6:27 PM ET: There’s a buzz they already got married (you think so?) and that what you’re looking at is the site of the reception. Just passing it along, folks.

According to People magazine, Beyonce and Jay-Z, I mean Sean Carter, obtained a marriage license from Syracuse, NY. According to a witness, “They were very polite and smiling as they filled out the paperwork. They were holding hands for a while. They looked really happy.” I will believe it when I see the wedding. I wouldn’t be surprise if this was a publicity stunt, I thought they would be a bit less conspicuous than this. They are probably just testing the waters to see how fast the the news will hit the stands. Do you think it’s real?
