Old School Friday Meme: Back In The Day

I had to come out with my ace card this week. I was trying to hold off on the good stuff, but MsMarvalus always comes out swinging, and Regina puts it down with three videos. So this week I had to think outside the box and come strong.

You don’t know about this man or this video…

This man was a gentle giant, and this video takes me back to the time of bike shorts and British Knights. I hope everyone had a jam box with double deck tape player. If you don’t know you better ask some body.

  1. The first video “I Need Love” by LL Cool J was touching. It showed a vulnerable side of men and how they’re looking for true love.

The name Biz Markie is familiar, but I don’t recall this song.

  2. Happy OSF! You pulled ‘em out today! LL Cool J changed the game and he is truly a legend for the length of his career! Biz Markie was straight out foolish. ‘Her name is blah-blah-blah’ (smile)!

I focused on Oscar Brown, Jr. for my OSF meme this week.

    peace, Villager

  3. “i need love” was definitely not an ll favorite of mine [if it was, then i really have a problem]; nonetheless, the tune scores big with the ladies.

now the biz markie jump off is hilarious. i never really liked the song, but i found the video and his delivery absolutely hilarious.

  4. Ha…i was listening to this “I need Love” the other day;…i was going through the motions with my ex, and i was compiling my “time to move on” playlist. Nice choice!

  5. i feel like ‘quick’. i am trying to get past my break up with my ex too. i am still trying to reach out to her and get her back, but i may have to start cookin’ up an official “time to move on” playlist as well.

  6. @ Marcus: Then you need to break out the Cosby show on her, “Justine, Justine”…

  7. MGV you are funny :-)

  8. Marcus…what?!

Anyway, MG…girl, you need to STOP! Wait until next week, I got you!

  9. Interesting choices! That was a great era for me growing up in Queens NY!
But I was not to fond of neither song!
