This is my President and I admire him so much. Everyone thought he would throw Jeremiah Wright under the bus and the Trinity Church of Christ, but he didn’t, he stood up for their 20 year relationship and spoke about the difficult times blacks have had in the is country. It took a lot of honor to risk his Presidency to stand up for Jeremiah Wright. If you haven’t already done so, please donate money so that he can continue his campaign and help heal some wounds this country didn’t realize it had. He said racism is still alive, and we as members of this country need to do more. We need to come together across racial, social, and class lines to create the American Dream we believe exist. If you believe in his message of hope and vision of unity, help support the campaign…

It’s a shame that things had to take such and ugly turn, but at least Obama handled it with poise and dignity-

MG – I haven’t watched the video yet, but I read the speech and:
You have to be a very closed minded individual not to understand what this man’s purpose is, what he is trying to achieve, what God has planned for him. The beauty of this man is that he speaks from his soul and he is genuine and sincere…he didn’t have to give this speech but he wanted to try to fix something that was wrong…isn’t that what a President should do?
He is my President too, MG…I came home and immediately sent in my donation…along with a note of support…

I am so proud to support him. He spoke the truth – something most politicians refuse to do and most folks don’t want to hear.
He is my president as well.

It is about time that someone in the gov. system spoke the truth about America and not only that but about the past ,present, and future. As a mixed child…I have also been close to white ,black, and hispanic citizens. Yet others believe one race is better than the other. Every race has contributed a great deal to the american people whether your black, white, hispanic, asian, indian, german, or even and island native. America is a melting pot….others need to recognize this.
As for Barak , I support him with all of my heart and I know he is a blessing to the U.S.
I hope that as citizens of the U.S we can come together as 1.

It’s hard being criticized as too black or not black enough. It hurts when blacks say you aren’t black enough, yet you suffer the same prejudices they suffer, and when whites say you are too black, and you have common ancestors and in some cases look just like them.
I am happy he gave the speech and it gave me a sense of closure on the matter.

I would not continue to affiliate myself with a church and it’s leader that says things like that.

@ Jocelyn: Maybe so. This is not the only thing pastor Wright has done or said for the last 20 years. He spoke at my church and his message had nothing to do with politics or racism. It was about Jesus. What people fell to understand is that Jeremiah Wright introduced Obama to Christ, and encouraged him to work for those less fortunate than him. Help to connect Obama to the black race that he was raised separately from. In a way this man is a father figure, so sure he can leave the church, but he’s not going to stop being friends with Rev Wright. I think it’s honorable to stand up for that relationship even if you don’t except everything he says. Oprah has even been a member of this church along with so many other black politicians and leaders. That means there is more good things about Mr. Wright that’s not being reported.
Lastly, everyone of us have people in our lives that we need to end relationships with or that others feel don’t belong or fit in, but we’re not under a microscope. I think I would have left the church if that was the first thing I heard, but if it was the last, I would have to evaluate my whole relationship with the church, good and bad before making that decision. And if I know my pastor outside the church for all that he is, then that decision would become even harder.
I think it’s easy to say he should have left…but just like any relationship that’s hard to do when the good memories and the feeling of love overshadows the bad days or the fights.
