What do you mean “keeping it real?” When you start getting mad about a black man dating a white man YOU are promoting bigotry. First, MOST men don’t have a preference to color or nationality. Most just love beautiful women. The most beautiful in my opinion are latina and I think this new girl is latina, not white. Mixed relationships are beautiful because they help break down the wall of hatred and say hey, I love this this person (or whatever) and I don’t care WHAT anyone says. I dated a black men for the longest time and caught so much grief from family and friends that it just showed me how backward this country is. Try going over to parts of Europe where they are totally color blind in relationships and you might adopt a new attitude. What are you saying anyway? Agrees with Kim!!! I am an Asian woman but I was adopted at age one and raised by a white family in Vermont. As a result I have never dated nor been interested in other Asian men. I have always dated white guys and since moving to Miami 6 years ago have dated a few Hispanic men. Does that mean I’m not “keepin’ it real”??? I don’t think so. Keeping it real is dating and loving those who appeal to you, not based on race. Our president’s mother was white and his father black from Kenya. What a wonderful thing that came of that. Being down on black men for not dating black women is ridiculous and is only perpetuating that sterotypes and racism we all hate so much.

Okay ladies, I understand all points, you have to yourself in another persons shoes to understand their feelings. Black women are very beautiful, and they often go without the proper attention from black men.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to keep your race together, our first lady is Black, okay….. Just because black women want the black men to want them, does not make them racist or jealous. I am of the black to explore your options, there is someone for everyone, and the one true thing is this LOVE HAS NO COLOR. Sometimes some black men give the impression that a black women is not what he wants because of whatever reason, and that a white woman equals success, these men are missing something that is deeper than race, it is personal issues. Sisters find what wants you and not what doesn’t, go and try white chocolate and kawlula. There are all sorts of kings and they are looking for all sorts of queens to match their heart not their skin. Chins up and work it BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Real Love does not know the color of one’s skin. Saying that you have to bear in mind that that what first attract us is the physical attributes before it enters the love arena. What do we look at as beautiful in today’s mass media? Yes, the image that we constantly see, the European stereotypical features that is not even shared by its own people , every race mimics that look, even European, the straight face, the straight nose, the straight hair and don’t deny the fact that most women straight their naturally curly hair..It is just that black women got it far more curly than the rest. As for as saying that Brazilians or Latinos are the best looking, based on who or what ideology. Everything that we learn is socially constructed and until that fact has been discredited, that ideal race connotation is based on impartiality.

It’s easy to say that love sees no colour and that people should be with who they find attractive. However, there are many ways in which “attractive” is socially defined. Our society places white women as the ideal of beauty and black women as the ideal of animal sexuality. It says black women are great for a fun time in bed but men should marry white…or as close to it as possible. Hispanic, South Asian, Oriental women fall somewhere in the middle of that. For example, oriental women are supposed to be vulnerable and submissive while Hispanics are fiery and sexy without the black woman issues. I have never met a woman of any racial group who fits those stereotypes. They’re wrong and they’re a lie but let’s keep it real and admit that these views have a history and they are still very strong today. Black women who complain about “brothas” not keeping it real often say that because most black women will not be approached by white or Asian men. It’s hard out here for a black chick:) Let’s not dismiss the concerns of black women. On the other hand, sisters really do have to accept that history has played us a tough hand and fight it. Is it hard? Yes. I intentioanlly to remind myself and my daughters that we are beautiful black (in my case) or biracial (in their cases) women. We validate the wonderful differences in race. We stay away from images that support the lie, like Barbie (she is not empowering for any woman of any race). I’m not looking for black men to date. I’m all about equal opportunity.

Some of you people have it totally backwards. Having children with a partner of any colour doesn’t dispel racial hatreds nor does it support diversity. It dilutes it. Over and over again until we’re one bland, homogenous race speaking the same stupid language we’re speaking right now. Worldwide. That’s crap! What makes it even worse, as Complicated was right about, is that the media brain washes people into thinking skinny little white chicks are the ideal. Indegenous races are diluting more and more with every generation and losing something really special. First off-truer words never spoken by “Kim”, back in Oct. 2008. Second, Terrance Howard is one of the most talented, versatile, and truly giving actors I have seen in a long time. Zulay is super fine. I have had my eye(s) on her for sometime, since I saw her in that Jennifer lopez produced movie w/ Omarion. Zulay also has a fantastic body. Terrance is lucky in a lot of ways. WOW race really seems to be an issue in American dating… I was looking through the comments and was thinking “oh maybe its not so bad” but THERE WE GO! “why is he dating a white woman?! race traitor!” “no calm down she’s not white shes spanish. its alll ok” IT SHOULDNT MATTER ANYWAY. Its sickening to see so many people held up by race. & to those who said that stuff about how the media says only white women (or close to, whatever the hell that is, all races are different it doesnt go in a specrtum from black to white) are those who men want to marry need to wake up… why would you want to marry someone STUPID enough to have their own idea of beauty dictated to them? There are men of all races out there who are perfectly capable of loving a woman of any race, look for THOSE men, if its tough, its tough, and thats sad, but dont worsen the situation by spreading spitefulness! I don’t think there’s a certain race that has more beautiful women look at Eva Longoria, Erykah Badu, Beyonce, Scarlett Johansson, Selma Hayek, Lucy Lui, Rihanna… so many stars hailed as beautiful and they’re of different races… actually if you want a race of women that’s not frequent in make-up adverts/girl bands/fashion magazines etc, there are much much less asian women than black women! It’s just paranoia, anyone with half a brain knows that beauty isnt dictated by race.
