It it reported that Melanie Brown and lawyer, Gloria Allred is suing Eddie Murphy for $9 Million for paternity and child support. Appearing on Larry King Live, Brown and her lawyer both dodge the question regarding the amount suit, but instead had this to offer:
We’re not here to talk about finances and we’re not here to counter kinds of, you know, allegations that they (Murphy’s camp) may wish to make.Any kind of issue regarding finances will be dealt with in a court of law and that’s the proper place.
But we are here to say that he has not even asked to visit his baby. He hasn’t asked. We’d like nothing more than that and this baby will always know that her mother fought for that – asked that the father be part of her life. Whether he does or not, this mother tried.”

I’m all for getting child support but $9 mil is steep; makes me think something. If the reunion flops, she’ll be sitting pretty if the judge awards even half of that.

I know that sends a red flag to me, but I know her lawyer has a lot to do with it. Gloria Alred doesn’t come cheep and $4 million of that will go toward legal fees.
